OUR STORY

I reverted to Islam in 2021, and stepping into modesty became one of the most transformative parts of my journey. What I once thought would feel restrictive actually felt freeing. Modesty gave me a sense of peace, confidence, and closeness to Allah that I had never experienced before.

But I also realized that not every woman feels that way at first.

For many of us, modesty can feel overwhelming or intimidating in the beginning. I wanted to create something that changes that experience. I wanted women to feel beautiful, confident, and secure in their modesty. I wanted them to feel the same sakinah, that deep inner tranquility, that I felt when I embraced this path.

The name Sakinour comes from two Arabic words, Sakinah, meaning peace and tranquility, and Nour, meaning light. Together, they represent the kind of modesty I believe in. Peaceful. Radiant. Intentional.
From the very beginning, choosing the right materials was essential. Modesty is not only about coverage, it is also about comfort. The way a hijab feels against your skin, the way it drapes, and the way it moves with you throughout the day all matter. I carefully select fabrics that are breathable, soft, and effortless to wear, so that you can focus on what truly matters without distraction.

Sakinour is not just about hijabs. It is about helping women feel grounded in who they are. It is about modesty that feels empowering and gentle. It is about choosing faith and feeling beautiful while doing so.
